Do you remember the soothing sound of your mother’s (or possibly even your grandmother’s) vintage sewing machine, as she lovingly sewed beautifully crafted designs for her loved ones, in her special place at home … in her little corner?

Maybe her sewing machine was a treadle sewing machine, with its gorgeous decal decorations, one that has remained in the family as a treasured heirloom, or has long since been sold and is cherished by another sewing enthusiast …

You might have kept some of these gorgeously crafted pieces, that were not only aesthetically beautiful and painstakingly detailed, but were also versatile, with a quality made to last, to be handed down from generation to generation … they became treasured keepsakes from the moment they were created.

It is these memories, beauty, versatility and quality craftsmanship of yesteryear, which I aspire to capture in each of my tapestry fabric bag creations in “Her Little Corner” …

“Her Little Corner” is my little corner in Melbourne, Australia, where I share my love for designing and creating timeless, ornate, yet versatile handbags, weekender / overnight travel bags and device / book / project pouches, that are Victorian-era and Mary Poppins Carpetbag vintage inspired, with a hint of nostalgia.

Utilising either new or unused vintage remnant tapestry fabric, and sewn using my environmentally sustainable antique Singer treadle sewing machine with various elements hand-sewn, each one-of-a-kind or limited-edition bag and pouch is made to last, creating not just a unique accessory to be enjoyed today, but a timeless, treasured keepsake to be cherished for many years.

Each with slightly varying dimensions, my bags and pouches are painstakingly designed to accommodate & flaunt the different gorgeous fabric patterns, so be sure to look out for dimensions as set out in individual listings.
